Message from Chapter President - Jim Jones

Winter and Spring have ended and summer is here which means we are halfway through the year. As usual, we are going strong as indicated by the articles contained in this newsletter on the year's completed activities and those yet to come. Of course the big one was the annual charity softball game and this takes a tremendous amount of work. I want to thank everyone that was involved in the planning, execution and participation at all levels. As usual, it was a great event! The managers won this year so the series is even at 2-2. We are trying to add a few more chapter activities this year but this depends on the interest and involvement of the membership.

The biggest event for the fall is the election of chapter officers in November. This will be discussed more at up coming meetings but the present plan is to nominate in September, have candidates discuss their qualifications and then vote in November with the new Officers to be announced at the November meeting.

Just so everyone is aware, I am not planning on running for re-election this year. By the end of the year I will have been your chapter president for three years and worked the year before that in getting the chapter chartered by the NMA. I think it is a great time for a new leadership team. I will still be around and plan to be active in both the local chapter and at the National level as the NMA National Director.

As always, your suggestions for improvement and ideas for new activities are alway appreciated. These activities provide our membership an opportunity to take a leadership position, by personally developing and driving projects, as well as giving back to the communities in which we live. If you have any suggestion(s) or would like to take a lead role on a project, please feel free to contact me, the other officers, or a committee chairperson for assistance. Your leadership team of officers and committee chairs are dedicated to continuing the growth of the chapter and its membership across the board.
