Congratulations “Stelli’s Stooges

The Tech Center Chapter of LMLA held its Fourth Annual Charity Softball Game on Thursday, June 5th. This year, the proceeds of the event will go to the American Diabetes Association.

The sky was overcast, but the atmosphere was anything but. There were games for the kids, plenty of great food, lots of raffle prizes, and of course, softball. The first game involved two employee teams: “Cus’s Kids”, coached by Bob Cusack and “The Bad Rapsters” coached by John Rapp. It took only five innings for the Rapsters to score the 11 runs needed for victory and the chance to play the managers’ team in game two.

The managers team, “Stelli’s Stooges” coached by Greg Stellitano, jumped out to an early lead, but the Rapsters fought back. The Rapsters were trailing 5-3 in the bottom of the 7th, with men on second and third with two outs, the potential winning run came to the plate. But the Rapsters couldn’t capitalize and the game ended with the managers winning for the second straight year.

There were many people who worked hard pulling the event together: Kelley Abele, Jack Giacolone, John Rapp, Heather Tomasello, Sherri Manka, Judy Cusack, Kelly Hershey, Pete Collins, John Bates, Diane Fowler, Dennis Forrester, Jim Jones, Sandy Carnes, Mike Steiner, Faith Moore, Nichole Cavileer, and Mike & Kelly Tosh. Also all the players and coaches who volunteered their time to make the event possible.

LMLA estimates that around $3,500 was raised to help fight diabetes.
