Please clean out your coat closets and donate those slightly used blankets and coats for Boys, Girls, Men, Women and Babies.

Please clean out your food pantries and when you do you daily, weekly (whatever your schedule) food shopping, purchase some extra items and donate them to this worthwhile food collection.

Last year at this time (in support of our Make A Difference Day participation with the Food Bank activities), English Creek collected over 1000 lbs of food.  It would be so exciting if not only our English Creek offices but also our Tech Center offices (bldg 316, and the software bldg 324) joined together and doubled or tripled that amount!  Challenge your departments, managers, families, friends, neighborhood, etc. to ‘pile high’ the food and coats/blankets so we can ‘pile high’ the Community Food Bank’s warehouse and coat closet.

Starting Thursday, September 10th through Wednesday, October 14th, barrels will beFebruary 15, 2010 bldg.  Overflow those barrels with coats, blankets and food.

LMLA Sponsored Annual Charity Softball Game -- 06/10/2009

Our 5th Annual Charity Softball Game and Raffle was a great success.  $3700.00 was raised for the Alzheimer’s Association Delaware Valley Chapter.  The event, held on June 10th was well attended and even though it had rained for days on end, and even though it was cloudy and cool, there was no rain (gnats yes, but no rain).  As in years past, two employee teams played, with a championship game between an employee’s team and manager’s team.  This year, the employees’ team was able to bring home a victory.

Thanks to all the players, refs, and volunteers for making this a banner year of giving to such a deserving charity.
Here is the lists of raffle winners, team players, and gracious volunteers.  Check out all the photos from the game at \\Tcsrv04\pictures\2009\2009 LMLA\softball fundraiser

Thanks again for your support and dedication to this charity event.

April 3 - 4: Community Food Bank's Annual Chance Auction

Volunteers from Lockheed Martin IS&GS–Civil, Atlantic City LMLA Chapter 541 spent Friday and Saturday, April 3-4, 2009 at the Community Food Bank of New Jersey, Southern Branch, in support of their annual chance auction. Both days were very busy as well as rewarding.

Friday was spent sorting, tagging and arranging hundreds of donated items in preparation for Saturday’s auction.

Our support on Saturday consisted of selling auction tickets, serving food, ‘running’ the auction item to the recipient, and general support throughout the day.

Evelyn Benton, Food Bank Director, expressed her thanks to all of us and noted that in spite of the economic conditions, this year’s event was a major success, resulting in over $13,000.00 being raised as a result of the generous donations, the hard work of the staff and volunteers and the enthusiastic participation of the patrons.

Thanks to the Lockheed Martin volunteer team consisting of Mary Simpson, Heather Tomasello, Clif Weaver, Graham Worrall, Andrea Worrall, Kelly Hershey and son Corbin, Becky Sheppard, and Diane Fowler.
