Engineering Week 2006

On Friday, February 24th, five Lockheed Martin Leadership Association members from the WJHTC chapter visited Atlantic City High School in honor of Engineering Week 2006. Over the course of the day they met with about 200 students from Advanced Placement math and science classes.

John Stauffer, Kelly Tosh, Heather Tomasello, Lori Charles, and Mike Tosh gave a short presention on exciting engineering careers and engineering achievements. The group also talked about what Lockheed and TSS do, as well as an insight into each of their jobs.

After a Q&A session, the students worked in groups to engineer paper structures. Three classes competed to build with the largest height to base ratio. The two classes later in the day built stock-paper structures to support books. The winning structure of the day was able to support all 48 of the 13-pound books used for judging!
