February 20, 2008 - Dr. Lewis Leitner

On Wednesday February 20, 2008, the members of LMLA Chapter 541 were privileged to host a presentation by Dr. Lewis A. Leitner, an accomplished and distinguished lecturer on staff at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. Dr. Leitner shared with the membership his perspectives on “Leadership for High Performance”. His presentation included expansion on topics such as key leadership challenges, the “potency of potential”, holding yourself fully accountable and what great leaders are doing today.
Dr. Lewis A. Leitner has been a professor and administrator at The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey since 1972. He came to the college as an Assistant Professor of Psychology, later became the Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences, and then returned to the faculty as a Professor of Management in the Business Studies Program. He has served as the director of the graduate program in business and his most recent assignment is as Executive Director of Management Training and Development in the Office of Professional Development and Continuing Education.
Dr. Leitner completed his undergraduate education at Lehigh University and received his Masters and Doctorate degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo.
Outside the college, he has been active as a trainer and as a management consultant for the past 30 years and has completed consulting projects with dozens of private and public sector organizations. He has specialized in strategic planning, executive teambuilding, leadership development, customer service excellence and quality improvement.
One of his long-term strategic planning projects has been with the American Dairy Association. This work led to the now well known Got Milk? television advertisements and the popular “Milk Moustache” ads in a variety of magazines.
